Federal Way is full gardens, including two world class collections.
PowellsWood Garden Park Rhododendron Species Botanical Gardens Weyerhaeuser Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection
PowellsWood Garden (www.powellswood.org) A testament to the pride Federal Way and Pacific Northwest residents take in the natural beauty of their city and region. A former location for unused and discarded construction debris, PowellsWood Garden, through the love and care of Monte and Diane Powell has been transformed to a paradise featuring many of the northwest’s native flora and fauna.
Rhododendron Species Botanical Gardens (www.rhodygarden.org) One of the largest and finest collections of Rhododendron species in the world. Over 10,000 rhododendrons grow in a beautiful woodland setting covering 22 acres.
Weyerhaeuser Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection (www.weyerhaeuser.com/bonsai) An outdoor museum of living art, with more than 50 outstanding bonsai elegantly displayed in a beautiful woodland setting. Bonsai from six Pacific Rim nations -- Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the United States -- grace the tropical conservatory and outdoor exhibit area. The Collection is temporary closed until 2012.
